I have called a Special Chelan City Council Meeting with
the
Chelan County Commissioners on Thursday, May 3rd
with a starting time of 6 PM.
The purpose of this workshop meeting is to discuss the consideration of entering
into an Interlocal Cooperative Agreement
for Planning & Coordinating
South Shore Urban Services & Facilities.
As background information, City staff has been meeting with Chelan
County
officials for the past several months to explore the feasibility of regional
planning efforts. Concurrent discussions and planning/development considerations
have also taken place regarding South
Shore development and the establishment
of an interlocal agreement between the City and Chelan County.
Council was provided with a report on these joint planning initiatives at the February 22, 2007 City
Council meeting. At the same meeting Council unanimously approved a motion to
enter into a Memorandum of Understanding with Chelan County
and the Washington State Department of Community, Trade & Economic Development
regarding regional planning initiatives. (See attached MOU)
Regarding the consideration of entering into an interlocal
agreement with Chelan County, the County entered into a similar agreement
with the City of Wenatchee
for Planning and Coordinating Olds Station and Sunnyslope Urban Services &
Facilities. (See attached Interlocal Agreement)
Several points of discussion planned for our joint workshop
meeting will include:
-
CONFORMANCE WITH STATE GROWTH MANAGEMENT ACT
